In 2020 battles over expired food gained popularity in Russia. Pensioners — putin's fans — often gathered at supermarkets in the hope of getting their hands on expired products that the store threw into dumpsters. There wasn't enough expired food for everyone, since in russia there are always more patriots than food, so pensioners often had to take part in bloody battles for resources.
