This painting was made as a greeting card. The coming year 2020 was the year of the rat, and a rat in the Russian understanding is a cunning, treacherous and mean little animal.
The painting shows a barrel with a radiation sign, because before the New Year Putin brought into russia a huge amount of radioactive uranium waste.
In November 2019 it became known that nuclear waste, or as they call it, uranium "tails", was being imported into Russia from Europe. Over the year, protests by environmentalists, 70,000 signatures of russians addressed to Germany's Environment Minister and the pandemic did not stop the transportation. The promised 12,000 tonnes of DUHF were brought into Russia.
