The Russian people have always considered themselves a God-bearing people and sacredly believed that they, the Russian people, were chosen by god.
Even Jesus Christ was our Russian lad from near Ryazan, who in his time went off to teach the Jews some sense...
And this Russian people is poor, dirty and flea-ridden also because of its God-chosenness. A Russian person has no time to think about everyday things when the world needs saving!
And the Russian people love the tsar because the tsar is from god. The tsar is the vicegerent, practically a god on earth, and so it is unseemly to grumble against the Lord's appointee! As the tsar commands, so it is by god!
