Snitching on neighbours is an ancient Russian tradition; in the times of Stalin's repressions tens of millions of denunciations were written, and 4 million became the reason for repression. Putin revived this beloved Russian tradition, and Russians selflessly set about churning out denunciations of their neighbours, of members of their own families and of just random people; hundreds, maybe thousands of young people end up in Putin's camps on the denunciations of their own parents.
