Can you imagine, this is my painting from 2002.
There is a very interesting and mystical story connected with it.
The painting is called "The Chronicler"
I painted it when my daughter had just been born. I didn't put any special meaning into it, I just wanted to paint a beautiful chronicler, a sort of sage, and just then a friend of my wife gave me a pack of oil paints.
I went to some rubbish dump, found a plywood mailbox, broke it apart, primed it and painted. It was actually the first oil painting of my life, before that there was only gouache and watercolour.
Anyway, some time later I gave this painting to my wife's brother. He took it and some time later moved to Novosibirsk.
He got a job, rented a flat and lived there for several years. And then he packed up, went off to live in Krasnodar Krai and abandoned the painting.
And you'd think the painting should have been lost, but in 2008 that very flat was rented by my own sister, who saw the painting and called me - I've found a painting here, it looks a lot like yours.
😂😂😂
Now this painting lives at my sister's.
Mysticism.
