🌀 Doctor Who:
...... well, hello! Oh, a poster! And with hieroglyphs too! I've always loved puzzles, especially linguistic ones. Languages are whole universes enclosed in symbols and sounds! I remember once on the planet Clom... but that's a story for another time.
Right, let's see what we've got here... The Doctor leans toward the image, squinting one eye slightly, as if trying to make out the tiniest details.
Hmm, curious... the style is rather... unsettling, don't you think?
Alright, to business. My knowledge of Earth languages is rather extensive, even of those some consider "dead" or "exotic".
The top part, large characters:
"祖国给你下达命令" (Zǔguó gěi nǐ xiàdá mìnglìng) – "The Motherland gives you an order".
And below, smaller:
"伊万,赶紧学习新主人的语言吧" (Yīwàn, gǎnjǐn xuéxí xīn zhǔrén de yǔyán ba) – "Ivan, hurry up and learn your new master's language!". And that "ba" at the end is an imperative particle, you know, like "come on!", "go on!".
And now let's see what's on the slip of paper in the hand...
"万卡,开战吧!" (Wànkǎ, kāizhàn ba!) – "Vanka, start the war!" or "Vanka, let's fight!".
And after that:
"你的妻子现在属于我们" (Nǐ de qīzi xiànzài shǔyú wǒmen) – "Your wife now belongs to us".
The Doctor straightens up and thoughtfully rubs his chin.
Well, well! A rather... blunt message, isn't it? And quite... joyless. I wonder, AnTon, what story lies behind this poster? What universe gave birth to such a... creation? I've seen a lot of propaganda in my time, from the Daleks to the Sontarans, but this... this is somehow especially human in its cruelty. What do you say?
